Fifth Installment

SPARE SOME TIME AND FIND OUT, HOW A WILD BEAST, WHO WAS A PLAYBOY & A BISEXUAL, A DRUG / ALCOHOL FREAK & A ALCOHOL DEALER, A PARTY ANIMAL & AN ANGRY GANGSTER, GOT HIS LIFE TRANSFORMED WITH THE  “POWER OF LOVE”

Habakkuk 1:5

“Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.

I was a gangster, always ready to fight. Mostly I have got beaten alone by many boys in my life but I was wild and hard-skinned, always ready for action. Having this fighter nature in my blood, this last statement of Mr. Khan was killing me from the inside, I wanted to put up a fight but you can’t do it at your workplace. Now I thought to at least fight back with words, and have a debate with him but having zero knowledge of the Bible, I was not able to respond.

Now just to win the debate and to fight him with words, I started reading Bible. I had zero interest to get closer to God, I was happy with my sinful life; in fact, I was enjoying it. To get more knowledge in less period of time, I also started watching movies and videos related to the Bible. It is written, “John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Because of my brother Mr. Khan, I knew the Truth and the Truth set me free, I wanted to fight with Mr. Khan but I fell in love with my brother. Now the same Andrew who used to watch porn movies the whole night started watching Christian movies. I was gaining knowledge very fast and this knowledge of Truth was setting me free from all the bondages of Devil/Satan.

Now, I was trying to get closer to God but there was an addiction that I was not able to get rid of. I thought the only way to get rid of it is to start asking God for the Holy Spirit(Acts 1:8-9 ⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

From here the weird story begins. In the morning while going to the office, I saw a pamphlet at the house, advertising that an African Evangelist is coming to the church, close to my house. I didn’t take it much seriously and went office. While working, I heard a guy who was actually not authorized to enter my office, talking to someone  about an African Evangelist who had the gift of the Holy Spirit, the gift of healing (1 Corinthians 12:7-11 ⁷ Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. ⁸ To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit ⁹ to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,¹⁰ to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.¹¹ All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.) He was telling that when he prays, the people will get healed instantly the way people used to get healed through Jesus. The other person was saying that African must be a magician. I went to that guy and started asking about him. He told me that once he came to our church. I asked how I can meet him. He said he is an African, not Pakistani, once he will come, I will let you know. I asked the name and I was so surprised that the name on the pamphlet was the same.

 

God works in mysterious ways. He will show us the way all the time but we keep on ignoring it. I ignored the pamphlet in the first place but once again God brought me back to it. To be continued . . . . . .
